Near optimal solutions and alternative objectives in TIMES models

This webinar is dedicated to demonstrating how TIMES models can be used to derive near-optimal solutions based on alternative objectives, going beyond traditional cost-optimal approaches.

The session will be led by Dr. Juan from VITO, the Flemish Institute for Technological Research in Belgium. It will showcase practical applications of near-optimal solutions and alternative objectives in the TIMES energy system model through hands-on examples.

The aim of the webinar is to enable ETSAP modelers to implement advanced features in their respective models and broaden the scope of TIMES analyses beyond least energy system cost perspectives. Generous time will be reserved for questions and discussion.

The methodology is based on model functionality that is described here: Microsoft Word – TIMES-Stochastic-Final2016.doc
