Review of the TIMES code in GAMS to identify areas for performance improvements

The project conducted a review of the TIMES code to reduce its execution time. The analysis revealed that TIMES development has accumulated substantial knowledge in programming techniques that make TIMES one of the best performers across different energy system frameworks. Still, further improvements were identified, resulting in a 20% performance increase. These improvements have been implemented in version 481 of the code. The programming techniques resulting in these improvements can also be applied to other models in the GAMS language.
