Australia 2019

Australian National Outlook 2019

The Australian National Outlook 2019 was a major national foresight initiative exploring longterm opportunities and challenges for Australia’s economy, environment, and society. Led by CSIRO in partnership with the National Australia Bank, the project used the AUSTIMES model alongside other integrated modelling tools to assess future pathways for natural resources and energy, cities and infrastructure, and productivity and services. Over 50 senior leaders from across industry, academia, and civil society worked with CSIRO to interpret the modelling results and develop policyrelevant narratives. The 2019 edition built on the first Australian National Outlook published in 2015, expanding the scope to include broader economic and social dimensions and to link environmental sustainability with economic prosperity.
