Hello, I'm new to TIMES and have a basic question. I'm interested in US energy sector modeling, particularly electricity produced by coal-fired power plants.  My question is how to provide specific availability factor values for coal-fired power plants for the forecast period? I mean, I want the solver to consider a specific availability factor value for each year, that I provide. I downloaded the 12 demo files and was working on them. In demo 8's B-Y templates, I changed the AFA under ELCCOA which I think represents power plants using coal as fuel. But I think this applies only to base year. Please help me in this regard. Thanks for your assistance.  Regards, Chandra

Hi Chandra, You can most certainly assign AFs that change over time by adjusting the AFAfor the ELCOA plants in the DemoS models. You may want to take a look at the TIMES-Starter platform (https://iea-etsap.org/index.php/etsap-times-starter), which is based upon the USEPA US9r TIMES model. It has a more robust set of power plants & a comprehensive RES for the entire energy system, based initially on the USEPA/DOE data, than DemoS. You can also contact Carol Lenox (Lenox.Carol@epa.gov) requesting access to US9rT.

Dear Mr. Goldstein, Thank you very much for clarifying my doubt. I'll follow your suggestions.  With best regards, Chandra
