Dear,
We face a problem when we include both Input and Output Auxiliary flows. The topology looks OK (we can see the flows in the RES). We use FLO_FUNC to link the input Auxiliary flow to the input of the storage process (ELCHIG) and the output Auxiliary flow to the output (also ELCHIG). It works if we only have an input Auxiliary flow. However, when we have both Auxiliary flows there is no ELCHIG input any longer and the Input Auxiliary flow is the same as the Output Auxiliary flow (the storage efficiency is not reflected). Is this a known problem ? If so, how can we solve this ? Thanks Wouter

Could you present the full process description here (including the topology, the entry in the ~FI_Process table, the FLO_FUNCS etc.,)?

I just tested with a storage process like you described. My test process has both Input and Output Auxiliary flows. I use FLO_FUNC to link the input Auxiliary flow to the input of the storage process (ELC) and the output Auxiliary flow to the output (also ELC). It worked well. I also checked all the storage equations, and they looked fine. Consequently, as far as I am concerned, your problem is not a known problem, but a problem quite unknown to me, at least for now. If the problem persists, please try providing more details on the process description (as requested above), to shed some light on it.

Dear Antti,
Thank you for the testing. I will give you more information soon. For now I can tell that the problem seems to occur for STS processes. I continue my testing and keep you informed with more a more detailed description. Kind regards, Wouter

Thanks for considering to provide some more information about the problem. My term as the maintainer of ETSAP-TIMES is ending, but if you have any suggestions for improving the handling of auxiliary storage flows, I am happy to see what I can do about it, until next week. And even after my contract ends, I am willing to make fixes to any clear reproducible bugs that may be reported, on a voluntary basis. BTW: There is still a pending open question for you in another thread: http://iea-etsap.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=76 Please let me know your thoughts also about that other issue. |
